Travis Ballantyne Paintings
Nov 11 @ 5:00 pm – Dec 30 @ 12:00 pm

As an artist, my work is primarily
abstract with a emphasis on
contrasting colors. I usually begin by
applying paint directly onto the
canvas from the tube, using different
tools to manipulate the paint. As the
colors blend and dry, new colors are
layered to create either high or low
contrast, depending on the mood of
the day. Paintings are often rotated
90 or 180 degrees to allow the
viewer a brand new experience and
perspective. Each work tells its own
story, which is left open for unique
interpretations.

Geeks Who Drink
Dec 7 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Geeks Who Drink

Geeks Who Drink is a nationwide pub trivia game that brings together assorted ‘smarties’ in a friendly competition over a wild assortment of questions. This is no ordinary Trivial Pursuit. Teams of no more than six persons each assemble, but you can play with fewer, or come alone and find a team to join. Your friendly neighborhood Quizmaster hosts the game, reading out eight questions for each of eight topics. The topics range from current events and pop culture to world geography to classic literature, and well beyond. If you can dream it up, there’s a topic for it. Nearly everyone will find something they may be the expert in. Winning teams get bragging rights, gift certificates and sometimes additional prizes. Every night is a new game, and you don’t have to be a trivia nerd to enjoy the quiz. If you don’t win, try another night, or bring smarter friends!

Kid Show: Groundwork Music Project

Groundwork Music Orchestra is music for that’s not just for kids! The Groundwork Music Orchestra uses the genre of children’s music to offer an expansive palette of song craft and musicianship. Their music is fun and easy to like, but never plays down to the audience. From the old world-styled Bone Soup to the straight ahead pop of Ride My Giraffe, every song invites the audience to join in. Also frequently joining in are great guest appearances from musicians like David Garza and Guy Forsyth. The Orchestra is led by Neal Kassanoff, who has written songs recorded by Carolyn Wonderland, Asylum Street Spankers and Guy Forsyth. The Orchestra also stands at the flank of a larger organization The Groundwork Music Project (GMP). All proceeds from the sale of Groundwork CD’s provide funding for GMP’s mission to bring free and low cost music education into preschools that could not otherwise afford it. All GMP teachers are accomplished, multi-instrumentalists who use many of the songs recorded by the Orchestra in their lesson plans.
