Carlos Castaneda Art Display
Mar 4 @ 4:00 pm – Apr 15 @ 12:00 pm

Carlos Castaneda’s intricate and fine-tuned craft came about after spending several years restoring upholstery in classic vehicles.  Castaneda decided to branch out and try something rare and challenging by creating art with various textures of vinyl and fabric materials.  Using his fabric and needlework knowledge, he began to create one of a kind wall art, seat benches, purses, bars, restaurant doors, gear knob covers, and many other original pieces.  All of Castaneda’s pieces are unique to his innovative craft.  Specific to his wall art, Castaneda installs a foam backing before he frames his pieces which creates a stunning 3D effect. Steady handed talent is obvious in everything he creates.  Castaneda’s beautifully weird designs will have you caught with wonder and admiration.

She has a 4-Track EP out called “Alchemy of the Heart, Part 1: Learning How to Pray.” Though she has a solid 2 hour repertoire of fun and moving piano and Ukulele originals, she also does a wide range of ukulele covers from punk, 90s alt, blues, pop, rock & rant. Mar 8 @ 7:00 pm

The band formerly know as RIIL Chemistry is now the Gnarly!
Don’t let their ages fool you, these kids have serious chops, a passion to rock, and newest single Infinity ( as RIIL Chemistry on Soundcloud) to back it up.
RIIL formed in 2012, with the band writing and performing together for 6 years, until their drummer Isaac graduated and headed to college at UT Dallas. Enter new drummer Logan Greenberg , thus a new name and new songs. They have been rockin’ it everywhere from fundraisers, private parties and area festivals, to coffeehouses ( this begins year 5 of shows at the Cherrywood!) and bars, always turning heads when people realize it is a group of 17 and under teens making this joyful noise. Their sound veers from from punk to blues to straight ahead rock and roll with influences as diverse as Zeppelin and Hendrix to RHCP, The Strokes, MUSE and Beck ( they covers tunes by the latter 4 in their set!). The band will continue to perform some of RIIL Chemistry’s originals but are hard at work writing new material , with 3 new songs already in the mix.

Geeks Who Drink
Mar 9 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Geeks Who Drink

Geeks Who Drink is a nationwide pub trivia game that brings together assorted ‘smarties’ in a friendly competition over a wild assortment of questions. This is no ordinary Trivial Pursuit. Teams of no more than six persons each assemble, but you can play with fewer, or come alone and find a team to join. Your friendly neighborhood Quizmaster hosts the game, reading out eight questions for each of eight topics. The topics range from current events and pop culture to world geography to classic literature, and well beyond. If you can dream it up, there’s a topic for it. Nearly everyone will find something they may be the expert in. Winning teams get bragging rights, gift certificates and sometimes additional prizes. Every night is a new game, and you don’t have to be a trivia nerd to enjoy the quiz. If you don’t win, try another night, or bring smarter friends!
